About This Tour

The Turtle Nesting Tour takes you to Las Baulas National Marine Park, one of the most important nesting sites in the world for endangered Leatherback sea turtles (Baula in Spanish). This protected beach is also home to Olive Ridley and Green Pacific sea turtles.

Your adventure begins with a scenic 10-minute boat ride through the Tamarindo Estuary to reach Playa Grande. Under the guidance of certified park rangers and our expert naturalist guides, you'll witness the incredible spectacle of massive sea turtles emerging from the ocean to lay their eggs under the cover of night.

If timing is right, you may even see baby turtles hatching and making their first journey to the sea - a truly magical and emotional experience that few people ever witness in their lifetime.

Season Alert: Turtle nesting season runs from October to March. Leatherbacks nest November-March, while Olive Ridley and Green turtles nest October-March. Book early as tours fill up quickly!
